May blossom isn’t the only thing
in bloom this season. The ideal weather conditions are encouraging wider varieties of fruit and veg to
flourish and ripen too. Salad favourites such as watercress and radishes have hopped on board the seasonal list now, so why not throw together a
refreshing, crunchy salad with all the seasonal fruit and veg available at this time of year.
Many of us will enjoy the great tradition of May Day celebrations and summer fêtes. Maypole dancing isn’t the only thing on display at such events, there is always a
plethora of strawberry and raspberry jams up for grabs and vegetable tartlets to feed
famished visitors. If you decide to try your hand at the coconut shy, you had better get some seasonal greens, such as spinach, down you before you have a go, as the coconuts have a
habit of sticking!
